Check to see if anything a shovel broom etc fell and is now stuck in the track that is causing it to be lodged.

In most cases the cause will be a stripped gear or a chain that has come off the sprocket.

Be sure to use clopay s garage door prolube or sillicone based lubricants.
If the gear is worn or damaged the door won t move properly.
The plastic gear on the drive shaft is designed to fail if the garage door gets stuck in the travel tracks protecting the expensive drive motor from damage.
If this is the case the motor will run but as the chain isn t where it should be it can t generate the lift to open the door.
You should properly lubricate your garage door s track the opener chain and the springs every few months as part of regular preventative maintenance.
